«Mémoire(s)» is a strategic partnership Erasmus + school to school 2015-2018 between schools from six European countries: Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, France and Portugal.
The project aims at sensitizing students, aged from 12 to 18 years, to memory issues, that is to make them aware of their history and their European identity as well as sharpen their critical thinking so that they become active European citizens sharing a common future.
In this perspective, we propose pedagogical activities focused on the reconstruction of individual memory (intergenerational transmission) to end up to more complex issues about collective memory (European culture and heritage). Each activity contributes to the conception and production of pedagogical material by the students which is freely accessible.
We can also develop a common background of basic and interdisciplinary skills, such as the use of the French language (project language) and the other languages of the cooperating partners. We can cultivate autonomy and initiative (pedagogy of the project, sensitization of the students on the basis of various assignments) as well as the basic use of information and communication technologies (production using multimedia, virtual classrooms…..).
The project “Memoires” promotes at the same time innovative practices for the teachers through the construction of a group supporting innovation and pedagogical experimentation.
Besides the current partnership, the schools aim at the development of a network by exploiting the experience of local bodies and all interested parties.
We have programmed six transnational meetings for the management of the project and the deployment of educational activities pertaining to the specific characteristics of the school and the country of reception and also to the affiliation of the students to the hosting families.
The final product comprises the construction of a common platform of Open Educational Resources. It is a portal accessing various educational tools produced during the project and also all Open Educational Resources produced in Europe. This data bank is registered in the rationale of transmitting the “imprint”, the existence of European memorial sites incorporated in an educational perspective.
The school partnership will refer to all accessible tool in Europe (eTwinning, electronic diffusion platforms, Europass) in order to achieve its development.
Finally, through qualitative approach, we propose a regular evaluation examining the impact of the project on the school community, the students and all interested parties.
